DUMOS: furniture for the whole house, with the inches on the card
DUMOS makes the pieces a house fills up with after the sofa: the desk and the chair, the dresser and the bed, the stools at the counter, the shelf against the wall, the ice maker on it, the crate for the dog. Here is what our range is for, who it is for, and what the name means.

What DUMOS makes
Furniture and home essentials for every room, sold flat in a carton and assembled by the person who ordered it. The catalogue runs to ten rooms: office chairs and desks, seating for the kitchen and the table, the bedroom, the living room and its storage, the kitchen counter, the vacuum cupboard, the dog, the home gym and the yard. The piece we are known for is the criss-cross chair, an armless office chair with a seat cut wide enough to sit on your feet, and the piece with the largest pool of ratings is the fabric dresser, non-woven bins on a steel frame under a wood top, named by its drawer count.
What the pieces share is a way of being made. A powder-coated steel frame carries the weight; an engineered wood panel is the surface; a fabric, a PU leather or a mesh is what you touch; and the whole thing packs flat into a carton that fits a doorway and a car. That is why a nine-drawer dresser here costs what a single wood drawer costs elsewhere, and it is also why every card prints its assembled size: the carton is not the piece.
Who it is for
The person with a tape measure and one wall. A first apartment where the desk has to fit the alcove beside the closet; a bedroom where the dresser has to stop below the window sill; a kitchen island that needs four stools at the right height; a child's room that needs a bed with a roof and a dresser with a strap. Our range is priced for the room that gets furnished all at once rather than a piece at a time, and it is sized for the room that gets measured before anything is ordered.
It is also for the person who reads reviews. Our pieces have been rated in the tens of thousands on our retail partner, and this site quotes those reviews as they were written, drawbacks included, because a review that says the desk wobbled until the bolts were retightened is worth more to the next buyer than a star.
How the site is different from a photograph
A photograph of a desk has no scale, and most furniture returns start there. So every card on this site prints the number that would have caught the return: the width of a desk, the drawer count and the height of a dresser, the seat height of a stool, the stated weight capacity of a chair, the screen size a TV stand is named for. Where a piece comes in several colours or sizes, the page lists every one with its own price and its own button. Where we state no figure, the card prints none.
Where a piece can hurt somebody, the page says what the authority says. A dresser that tips, a bunk bed with a rail, a heater near a curtain and a chair sold with the word ergonomic each carry a note written from the Consumer Product Safety Commission or OSHA, with a link and the date we read it, on the page where the piece is rather than in the small print.
What the name means, and does not
A search for the word finds a Latin dictionary entry, a sixth-century monastery near Braga in Portugal, and a handful of other sites carrying our name. DUMOS, in capitals, on a carton, is the furniture brand, and this is its catalogue. The other sites you will find under the name print no prices, no widths and no variants; this one prints all three, updated on a schedule, with the date of the last update on our updates page.
How long DUMOS has been around
Since 2020. That is the one figure on this site we state about ourselves rather than about a piece of furniture, and it is there because you can check it. Everything else about us that might fill a sentence, where the pieces are made, how many people are involved, what is certified, is not on this site: a width you can measure beats a claim you cannot.
01Where to start
The ten rooms DUMOS is divided into
388 pieces, sorted by the room the piece will stand in rather than by what it is made of.
02DUMOS, briefly
DUMOS: questions people ask first
What the name covers, how long it has been on the market, why a search for it finds a monastery, and what happens when a buying button is pressed.
What does DUMOS make?
Furniture and home essentials for every room of a house, sold flat and assembled by the buyer: office chairs and desks, dressers, nightstands and bed frames, bar stools and dining chairs, bookshelves and TV stands, countertop ice makers and mini fridges, vacuums, dog crates, home-gym pieces and patio sets. Ten rooms, a few hundred pieces, every one printed with its measurements.
How long has DUMOS been around?
Since 2020. That is the one figure on this site we state about ourselves rather than about a piece, and it is there because you can check it.
Is DUMOS the same as the dictionary word or the monastery?
No. The word is a Latin form and the name of a sixth-century monastery in Portugal, and a search for it finds both. The furniture carries the name in capitals on a carton, and this site is its catalogue rather than a dictionary.
What are you paying for in a DUMOS piece that a cheaper one lacks?
A stated capacity and a steel frame under it, mostly. The chairs print 250 to 350 lb, the platform beds up to 880, and the frame is powder-coated steel that carries the figure; after that the money goes into the casters, the drawer slides and the anti-tip strap in the box of the tall dressers.
Who is DUMOS furniture for?
Anyone furnishing a room with a tape measure: a first apartment, a home office in a bedroom corner, a child's room, a dorm, a kitchen island that needs stools. Our range is organised by the room the piece will stand in, and the rooms say so.
One button, the whole DUMOS house
Every room, colour and size in the DUMOS house sits behind this button, with the price from our last update beside it. Measure the wall, read the inches on the card, and the order goes through our retail partner.
