Choose the vacuum by the floor. The canister vacuum runs on a cord, so it does not run out on the stairs, and it carries its motor in a body you pull behind you; it is the machine for a house with carpet. The cordless stick weighs what a broom weighs, hangs on a wall, and does one floor of an apartment on a charge; its runtime is our figure on the card. The wet-dry vacuum mop sprays water onto tile, laminate or sealed wood and vacuums it back in the same pass, and it stops at the edge of a rug.

The grooming vacuum is the machine dog owners ask about first: a brush head on a hose that takes the loose coat off the dog into a bin instead of onto the floor, with clipper and nozzle attachments in the kit. A nervous dog meets the noise before the brush. Every machine on this page prints its bin capacity, and the cordless ones their runtime; each colour and kit is a row with its own price.

DUMOS Vacuum: questions

What people ask us about vacuum before they pick a piece.

Which DUMOS vacuum is best for pet hair on carpet?

The canister vacuum, because it does not lose suction on a cord and its head works into a pile; the grooming vacuum stops the hair reaching the carpet in the first place. The two together are what the reviewers with two dogs own.

Can the DUMOS vacuum mop be used on wood floors?

On sealed wood and laminate, yes; on unsealed or waxed wood, no, because it leaves the floor damp for a minute. The reviews use it on tile and laminate most.
