An office chair is bought on three numbers and a word. The numbers are the capacity, 250 lb on the smaller mesh chairs and up to 350 on the leather and big-and-tall seats; the seat height range, which decides whether your feet rest flat with your knees level with your hips; and the base width, which decides whether five casters fit under your desk. The word is ergonomic, and this page prints what OSHA means by it: a backrest that follows the spine with lumbar support, a seat that lets the feet rest flat, armrests that let the shoulders drop, a five-leg base.

The shelf sorts by back and arm. Mesh backs breathe through a long afternoon and show the frame; PU leather backs wipe clean and warm up in summer; the executive chairs add a headrest and a taller shell. Flip-up arms fold away so the chair slides under a desk lip; the armless chairs and the drafting chairs go further and drop the arms entirely for a vanity or a standing-height counter. What ergonomic means, in OSHA's words

The word ergonomic on a chair is a promise about your body, so here is what the Occupational Safety and Health Administration means by it in its computer workstation guidance. A backrest that follows the natural curve of your spine and supports the lower back; a seat that lets your feet rest flat on the floor or a footrest; armrests, if the chair has them, that let your shoulders relax with your elbows close to your body; and a base with five legs on casters. The desk puts the monitor straight in front of you at least 20 inches away, with nothing stored under it where your legs go. OSHA adds the sentence that matters most: sitting still for a long time is not healthy however good the posture, and the cure is to change position, stand and walk during the day. A chair with lumbar support and a desk that rises are tools for that; neither is a treatment for a back that already hurts, which is a question for a doctor.

Which DUMOS office chair has the highest weight capacity?

The big-and-tall desk chairs, and the figure we state for them is on their cards; most of the mesh chairs state 250 lb and the leather chairs 300 to 350. Read the stated figure, not the look of the chair.

Should you choose mesh or PU leather on a DUMOS office chair?

Mesh if the room runs warm and you sit eight hours: it breathes. PU leather if the chair sits in a living room and gets wiped rather than vacuumed. The lumbar curve and the base are the same idea on both; the difference is the skin.

Do DUMOS office chairs come with a headrest?

The executive and high-back chairs do, and the gaming chairs on their own page do; the mid-back mesh and armless chairs do not. A headrest is for reclining, and OSHA lists a reclined posture of 105 to 120 degrees as one of four neutral positions.
