DUMOS Bookshelf
Open bookshelves from three to seven tiers on a steel frame, bookshelves with a fabric drawer, a triple-column four-tier shelf, tree bookshelves, rotating towers for a corner and a six-cube organizer, in wood, grey and black finishes.
A bookshelf is named by its tiers here because the tier count is the height. Five tiers stands about 62 inches and six about 63; the height of every one is on its card. The frames are powder-coated steel with engineered wood shelves in wood, grey and black finishes, and we state a capacity per tier on most of them, printed on the card: a foot of hardbacks weighs about 20 lb, which is the figure to read it against. The shelves with a fabric drawer close the bottom tier on the cables and the chargers.
Two shapes are for the corners a flat shelf cannot use. The tree bookshelf leans its tiers off a single spine and stands where a wall meets a door; the rotating tower turns on its base so four sides of shelf take the floor space of one. The triple-column shelf and the six-cube organizer are for a whole wall. All of them are furniture with shelves, which is the commission's phrase for what gets anchored, and the five and seven-tier shelves ship with a strap.
Before a shelf goes against the wall
A dresser, a bookshelf, a TV stand or a cabinet is the furniture that tips, and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission runs a whole campaign, Anchor It!, on that one point: anchor all furniture with drawers, doors and shelves, and every TV, to the wall. The commission's five steps take a few minutes with the kit, a drill and a stud finder: fix a bracket to the wall, push the piece back against it, fix a bracket to the piece, run the strap between them, and tighten until a tug moves nothing. Under the STURDY Act, a dresser 27 inches or taller made after 1 September 2023 must pass federal stability tests and ship with an anti-tip device, and our fabric dressers of that height do ship with one; the strap only works once it is on the wall. A drawer left open for a climbing child is how most of these accidents start, and the commission's words are that they happen in the blink of an eye.

How much weight does a DUMOS bookshelf hold per shelf?
Our stated per-tier figure is on the card, and on the open shelves it runs from about 30 lb a tier to 80 on the rotating tower; a foot of hardbacks weighs about 20. Load the bottom tiers heaviest, and anchor the shelf.
Does the DUMOS tree bookshelf need to be fixed to the wall?
Yes, and it ships with a strap: a shelf that leans its tiers off one spine is top-heavy by design, and the commission says to anchor all furniture with shelves. The tower and the five-tier shelves come with a strap for the same reason.
